Meg & Daniel walking down the side of Max Patch North Carolina at Sunset for their engagement photos
When Meg and I first jumped on a call to talk through engagement session ideas she mentioned Max Patch! I had been there before and I was dying to shoot there! One small thing… it’s 4 hours away in North Carolina. After bouncing around a lot of other ideas and dancing around the weather we decided to just do it! It was 8 hours round trip with what were, at the time, total strangers! But with a good playlist, lots of stories and a roadside diner pit stop we were there in no time!
Right as we were arriving it started to rain and things didn’t look hopeful. So we stayed at the car and did a little snuggle sesh before hiking up to the top. We had a blast running around the bald like little kids. We started to get towards the end of the shoot and it was still pretty gloomy. I was holding out hope the sun would pop out. Over the years I have left too many session and seen the sun come blazing out in all its glory on my drive home. We had come too far for that ish. So we waited it out. I was watching the compass, where I thought the sun would set, and the cloud patterns.
AND THEN THERE SHE WAS! The sun in all of her glory!
If an adventure session is more your pace and something you would be interested in… let’s talk!
