A wedding weekend is made up of so much more than the ceremony and reception. For Halie and Daniel, taking time for portraits during their wedding rehearsal gave us the chance to document some of the anticipation, excitement, and quieter moments before their wedding day began.
Their Chattanooga wedding rehearsal photography felt relaxed and completely different from the pace of a traditional wedding day. With no packed portrait timeline to worry about, we could wander, enjoy the surroundings, and create photos that felt natural to the two of them.

Halie and Daniel chose a Chattanooga setting that blended natural surroundings with the character of the city, giving us plenty of variety for their portraits.
Their rehearsal attire also gave the session a completely different feeling from their wedding portraits. Halie’s look was chic and relaxed, while Daniel kept things classic, creating photographs that still felt elevated without being overly formal.
More than anything, you can see how excited these two were to be just one step away from getting married. The laughter, connection, and anticipation are some of my favorite parts of photographing the moments surrounding a wedding day.
Why I Love Photographing the Wedding Rehearsal
One thing I would change substantially is the current “rehearsal portraits are often overlooked” section.

A wedding rehearsal can be one of the most relaxed parts of the entire wedding weekend. Everyone is beginning to arrive, the excitement is building, and there is usually more room to slow down than there will be once the wedding-day timeline begins.
Adding photography during this part of the celebration allows couples to document another side of their wedding experience. That might mean a few portraits together before the rehearsal, candid photographs with family and friends, or simply documenting everyone gathering in the same place before the big day.
