Getting Married at Common House Chattanooga

Common House Chattanooga is a wedding venue and members’ club designed for young professionals. Membership includes access to a pool, gym, co-working space, podcast studio, and even hotel rooms. It’s got a good mix of modern and historic features that makes it a unique event space.

Depending on the size of your guest list, Common House Chattanooga has three different spaces available for weddings.

      • The Garden: The garden consists mainly of a courtyard with a well-manicured lawn. Market lights bring warmth to the space. It’s simple but pretty. You can definitely fit a ceremony and reception out there if you have your heart set on an outdoor wedding.
      • The Pennybacker Room: This is the most intimate of spaces available at Common House. The sunny room features dark woodwork that contrasts with the clean white paint. Ceremonies typically take place in front of the historic fireplace.
      • Ruby Hall: Canyon and David had their wedding in this space, and it’s gorgeous! The interior blends old and new with vaulted ceilings, brick walls, and tiered chandeliers.

Even though Common House is a members’ club, you don’t have to be a member to get married there. The reception fee starts at $2,000. Your average spend is likely going to be closer to $40,000 with food, beverages, and rentals. Common House considers itself an all-inclusive wedding venue. They provide food, all necessary furniture and dishware, and even A/V equipment. You can bring in additional rentals like Canyon and David did, though.

If you’re thinking that Common House Chattanooga sounds like an upscale YMCA, you’d be right! The Tuscan style building was originally constructed in 1929 to be a YMCA. The original dorms and gym spaces provided the skeleton for the building’s current design.

      Canyon and David’s Elegant Wedding

Common House Chattanooga really was the perfect venue for Canyon and David’s wedding. They went all in on elegant details. Their olive suits looked really chic. One even wore a cape for a little extra drama at the reception.

Fox and Fern draped the market lights in greenery, transforming Ruby Hall into an indoor forest. David and Canyon shared so many romantic, joyful moments throughout the night. Even in their posed photos, their smiles are absolutely genuine.
